Week 1 done!

Well, our family has survived the first week of school. With 5 children attending 3 different schools, it has been chaotic to say the least. Hannah is progressing well with her work and is anxious to move forward with her French and her Food courses. She is awaiting contact from the teachers in these areas. In the meantime she is about 20% through her Social Studies course and is doing good work. The teacher (Ms Hamm) has been very responsive to Hannah's emails and her directions have been good. This work would be very difficult without this interaction. I also have to commend "Wally" the counselor we met on the first day for asking us good questions and setting realistic expectations of the Summit program. He did his job well. Summit is still processing registrations and I'm sure this is the busiest week of the year so I'm coaching Hannah to continue being patient for her other courses. Hannah has also set up her Phys Ed. goals and is active each day in meeting them. So far the Summit experience is exceeding my expectations, but I must confess that it would be much more difficult with one of my other less motivated children. It is easy to support a motivated, self-starting student. That's all for now- onto the weekend activities :)
